Mega Powerstar turned Global Star Ram Charan’s highly anticipated political drama, Game changer has hit the screens worldwide on January,10,2025. Let’s see how it is.

Story:
An angry young man named Ram(Ram Charan) wants to become an IAS fulfill his dream and gets posting to his own district Vizag as a collector. Being an aggressive human by nature, Ram goes against the politicians and system. In the process, he locks horns with corrupt politician named Mopidevi( S. J. Suryah). Who is Mopidevi? What is his backstory? How is a social reformist Appanna ( Ram Charan) and a Chief Minister( role played by Srikanth ) from the flashback is interlinked with the current story? Forms the crucial crux.

Plus points:
Undoubtedly, Ram Charan is the biggest asset for the film. Be it his transformation from IPS to IAS and his makeover for the given role which has multiple shades has been portrayed perfectly by Charan.
Especially, his makeover in the Appanna role in the crucial flashback has been receiving positive response from the audience.

Other than, Ram Charan the movie has a scope for SJ Suryha in which he did a justice as a corrupt politician. Srikanth is decent in his role but has a limited screen time.
Coming to glamour portion, heroine Kiara Advani is gorgeous on screen and gave an okayish performance in her character which has a less scope for acting. Yet another female lead is Anjali. She is good in her given supportive role as Appanna’s wife.
Other actors like Samuthirakani and Rajeev Kanakala are decent in their given roles.

Minus points:
One of the drawbacks of the film is dull and predictable screenplay. Director Shankar, who has made some engaging social dramas earlier failed completely in narrating the film in an engaging manner. If Shankar won’t come out of his old-school making, it is definitely going to effective him in the future.
Yet another major minus for the film is Miscasting. In most of the characters which have very less importance, the team has locked noted artists due to which to impact is visible on the screen and on the movie.
Actors like Naveen Chandra are gone unnoticed due to less screen time.

Technical aspects:
Music by Thaman is good and maximum elevates the movie and the scene. Especially, the confrontation scenes between antagonist and the protagonist have come out well and the background score plays a major role in it. Coming to songs, all songs are lavishly canned but are not up to mark.
Editing work is Just okay as the film lacks a racy editing which can be easily seen on the screen. The cinematography by Tirru is good as he showcased the movie on a grand note.

Other departments such as art and costumes are done nicely. Karthik Subbaraj story is good but lacks a impactful execution. Dialogues written by Sai Madhav Burra lacks an emotional connection. Production values by Dil Raju’s banner are lavish and are visible on the screen.

Verdict:
In an overview, Game Changer is completely Ram Charan’s movie. Literally, Shankar canned the film to elevate his role and has nothing much to discuss about other characters. On the other hand, weak writing and un engaging treatment with some old-school presentation dilutes the main purpose of the film making it a wasted opportunity.
