The Telugu version of Indo-Japanese film, titled, Ramayana -The Legend Of Prince Rama with animated characters has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

The film takes off with the childhood scenes of Rama( Lord Sri Rama) and establishes his character as a good guy with values inherited. This story was 31 years old and is already canned in Japan. The animated movie showcases how Lord Sri Rama fights with Ravaana and rescue Sita Devi from his evil compound. How Hanuman character comes into the picture and helps Rama in his mission? Forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

The animated characters are being projected so perfectly as they behavior as the real characters. The drama in the plotline has been presented so gripping manner. The scenes between Rama and his wife Sita are executed so gripping manner. And so is case with bondage between Rama and his brother and Laxmana.

Adding to it, the epic battle sequences, transporting viewers to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Prince Rama; Mithila, where Rama weds Sita; The forest of Panchavati, where Prince Rama spent his exile with Sita & Lakshman and Lanka, the battleground of the legendary clash between Lord Rama and King Ravana, all brought to life in beautifully rendered Japanese anime style.

Especially, Hanuman character is designed in such a way that it gets connected to kids instantly. The drama has been superbly presented on the screen which will be loved by the kids and families alike.

The war sequences are executed in a lavish manner and the CG Work has been came out nicely.


Minus Points:

As it is animated film there are hardly any minus scenes in the film.

Technical aspects:

Technically, the film has a solid backup. Be it graphics work or VFX work, the film is case study among the films being made in this genre.

Other aspects such as editing department did a superb work and is visible on the screen. Mainly, the film is a rare Indo-Japanese collaboration that involved over 450 artists using nearly 100,000 hand-drawn cells. The result is a visual masterpiece that blends Japanese artistic finesse with India’s timeless tradition of storytelling.

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama resonates across cultures and continents because it speaks of eternal values—dharma, courage, and love. From Valmiki’s epic to adaptations like Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas and Kamban’s Ramavataram , this story has inspired millions. It is a privilege to help bring this iconic film back to life for today’s generation, who will experience it like never before.

So many of us in India, the film has been a memorable part of our childhood, and bringing it to cinemas now for a theatrical release is a beautiful revival of a cult favourite.

Last but not least, the direction by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan is amazing to the core and they have done so much of research for the film which is evident on the screen.

Verdict:

In an overview, this Indo-Japanese film, Ramayana -The Legend Of Prince is well-made animated film for kids and families. The graphics and VFX work is literally stunning and drama presented in a gripping manner will definitely awestruck the audience and gives a pleasant and feel-good watch.
