Noted actress Chandini Chowdary is back again with a bold subject titled, Santhana Prapthirasthu. Co-starring Vikrant Reddy as the main lead, the film has hit the silver screens today. Now, let’s take a look at how the film is in this review.

Story :
Chaitanya (Vikranth), a software engineer from Hyderabad, is an introvert who even struggles to talk to girls. Unexpectedly, he gets acquainted with Kalyani (Chandini Chowdary). Their acquaintance slowly turns into love, and they convince their families and get married. But after the wedding, Chaitanya discovers that his sperm count is low. How this young couple deals with such a problem in society, and whether they eventually have children or not, is something you need to watch in the film to find out.

Plus points:

The main aspect that impresses in the film is its sensitive subject and the way it has been handled. Without crossing any lines or making it feel awkward, the makers have presented it in a way that even family audiences can enjoy. The solid comedy in the film also works very well.

Especially in the second half, the audience will thoroughly enjoy the fun ride. Among the actors, young hero Vikranth delivers a good performance. Compared to his first film, he has improved himself a lot here. Scenes where he handles certain difficult situations like a youngster trying to cover up his weakness, as well as his comedy scenes with actor Muralidhar Goud, have worked out well for him.

Heroine Chandini Chowdary can be called the soul of this film. She performed her role extremely well. In a simple and decent girl-next-door role, she did a great job. Her acting in an emotional scene stands out even more. Comedian Abhinav Gomatam is another highlight with his comedy tracks—his scenes and comic timing are engaging.

Another major highlight is actor Muralidhar Goud. Compared to his roles in previous films, he received a slightly different and solid role in this one. He fit perfectly into that character and delivered convincingly. Vennela Kishore and Tharun Bhascker also did well in their roles and became added attractions in the film.

Minus points:
Although the narrative of the film is entertaining from start to finish, it must be said that it misses having solid emotional content. It feels like the focus was placed mostly on comedy. There are emotional moments, but it would have been better if they had been handled in a more balanced way.

Had both elements been balanced properly, it would have been perfect. So, those who expect a balanced mix might feel a bit disappointed. The beginning of the film also feels a little slow. Likewise, the love track in the film comes across as somewhat simple.

Technical Aspects:

The production values in the film are good. The production design, crafted to suit the film’s theme, looks neat throughout. Sunil Kashyap’s music is nice. Mahi Reddy’s cinematography is impressive, and the editing is also decent. The second half, in particular, has been executed well.

Coming to director Sanjeev Reddy… the way he handled such a sensitive subject is commendable. He has shaped a bold theme with the right dose of humor and well-designed characters, which feels very neat. However, he focused more on the comedy. If he had balanced the emotional aspects a little better, the film could have delivered an even stronger experience. Even so, his work in this film is impressive.

Verdict:
All in all, “Santhana Prapthirasthu can be described as a decent comedy drama built around a sensitive subject. The director’s approach, the characters, and the comedy woven around them keep the film engaging. Vikranth, Chandini, and Muralidhar Goud impressed with their performances. However, if a little more attention had been given to the emotional part, the film would have delivered an even better experience. Setting aside a few slow moments here and there, this film offers good humor for this weekend.
