Starring newcomers Akhil Uddemari and Tejaswi Rao in the lead roles, a film titled, Raju weds Rambai has caught the audience’s attention with its promotional activities. Directed by Saailu Kampati, the film is scheduled to hit the silver screens on November 21st with a special premiers on November 20th night. Let’s see how it goes.

Story:

Set in the interiors of Telangana, Raju weds Rambai is a real incident happened fifteen years back in Khammam and Warangal board. Coming to main plot, Raju( Akhil Uddemari) leads life by running band in his village. For obvious reasons, he falls for a beautiful girl named Rambai ( Tejaswi Rao). Their love story hits a roadblock due to Rambai’s father, a government employee named Venkanna( Chaitu Jonnalagadda) as he plans his daughter’s marriage with a government employee. What happened during the course of time? What will Raju do to get his love life? What is the role of Ramesh ( Sivaji Raja) and Susheela ( Kavitha Srirangam), that forms the crucial crux.

Plus points:

Akhil is decent on the screen and gave a good performance in his character oriented role. His makeover as a running band man is superb and brings the depth to the proceedings in the first half. On the other hand, Tejaswi Rao is cute with her expressions and she stolen the limelight with her performance in the second half.

Undoubtedly, Chaitu Jonnalagadda is a surprise package for the film. He tried to emote the same with his outstanding screen presence.

Actor Sivaji gave a good performance in his given key role. Actresses like Kavita Srirangam and Anita Chowdhary are okay with their acting skills.

Minus points:

The pace of the film drops at regular intervals in the first half of the movie.

If the director would have focused on the first half proceedings, the result would have been even better.

Mainly the film lacks the commercial aspects in it which might disappoint the audience to an extent.

Technical Aspects:

Music by Suresh Bobilli is outstanding. Be it his songs or background score everything takes the audience’s mood into the film. The cinematography by Waij Baig is real and rustic.

The editing work is good. Production values for this limited budget movie are nice.

Coming to the director, Saailu Kampati did largely decent job in exploring the realistic story.

Verdict:

All in all, Raju weds Rambai is a rural love drama that has a emotional thread. The climax portion are back bond for the film making it a watchable fare during this weekend.
