Small screen actor Amardeep is trying his luck with big screen project titled, Sumathi Sathakam. Co-starring Saylimchaudhri as the female lead and Tasty Teja in a key role, the film has hit the screens on February 6th. Let’s see how it goes.
Story:
Being a miser, Krishna (Amardeep) wants to get married to someone who loves him to the core. In the process, he crosses paths with a beautiful girl named Sumathi ( Saylimchaudhri). What happens in the plotline after Krishna meeting Sumathi? How is the title justified? What is the key aspect in the heroine character? Will Krishna gets his love by overcoming all the troubles? To know that you have to watch the film at the nearest screens.
Plus points:
Amerdeep kept heart and soul for the movie which can be seen on the screen. Be it his acting or else in the dances, he gave his cent percent.
Heroine Saylimchaudhri gets a meaty role. Her performance during the climax portion will definitely impress the audience. Her chemistry with Amerdeep is good and it is a major plus for the film.
Other supporting artists are decent in their given roles. All other character artists are fine in their cameo roles.
Minus points:
A couple of scenes in the narrative looks dragged. A few of episodes are boring in the first half which can be trimmed easily.
Lack of noted faces in the key roles can be termed as a minus points for the film. Adding to it, even lack of comedy output for noted comedians like Mahesh Vittu and Tasty Teja comes as a demerit of the movie.
Technical Aspects:
The Cinematography work is good as the locations are captured well. The editing is okay but would have been better.
Music is added advantage for the film as two songs and background score registers well. The production values for this limited budget movie are good to an extent.
Verdict:
In an overview, Sumathi Sathakam is a rural drama that has a few engaging moments in the narrative. Lead artists performance is good but lack of strong characters in the plotline makes the film as an impact less at the regular intervals making it a watchable fare during this weekend.
