Dynamic Star Vishnu Manchu’s dream project ‘Kannappa’ is carrying good craze among the audience. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory by Dr. M. Mohan Babu, the film had a Pan India release today. Let’s see how it goes.

Story:

Inspired by the legend of Bhakta Kannappa, the film follows Thinnadu, a tribal hunter who is initially an atheist but undergoes a spiritual transformation, eventually becoming a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Set against a rich mythological backdrop, the film delves into themes of devotion, sacrifice, and divine grace, culminating in the ultimate test of Thinnadu’s faith.

Plus points:

Vishnu Manchu’s Career-Best Performance.
He delivers a power-packed and emotionally stirring act, effectively portraying the arc of an atheist turning into a devoted saint. Appearances by Akshay Kumar and Prabhas as divine beings add star power without feeling forced.

The track between Manchu Vishnu and Prabhas which comes during the key second half is engaging gives the required push to the movie.

Preity Mukhundhan is cute on the screen and provides required glamour to the youth audience.

Other actors such as Akshay kumar, Kajal Agarwal, Mohanlal and Mohan Babu are good in their key cameo roles.

Minus Points:

The pace of the film is slow during the first half of the film which can be termed as a major minus.

The romantic track between the lead pair looks unwanted in the first half proceedings which could have been avoided.

Technical Aspects:

Director Director Mukesh Kumar Singh balances devotional depth with commercial entertainment. High-voltage action sequences are blended with philosophical undertones.

Music by Stephen Devassy is largely good and so is the case with his BGM.

The cinematography work looks rich and editing by Anthony would have been even better.

The production values by Vishnu Manchu’s home banner are lavish and stunning for this big budget movie.

Verdict:
On the whole, Kannappa is a devotional drama that keeps the audience attention hooked due to the performances by the lead actors. If you ignore a few loopholes here and there, the film will end up as a time-pass watch during this weekend.
