Starring Nithiin in the lead role, an emotional drama, titled, Thammudu, which also has actress Laya in a key role. Directed by Sri Ram Venu, the film is out on July 4,2025. Let’s see how it goes.
Story:
Thammudu prominently deals with Jay(Nithiin) who is up for the rescue of Jayabarathi(Laya)’s family. Who is Jay? What is his backstory? Is there any connection between Jay and Laya’s character? Forms the crucial crux.
Plus points:
As usual, Nithiin is impressive in a common man role with his acting.
Most of the film runs in a night mood, the film has night effects, the scenes have been executed in an impressive manner.
Actress Laya is convincing in her given key role. Sampathi Gowda, Swathika are okay in her key roles. The kid who acted as Laya’s daughter is cute.
Varsha Bollamma is okay with her performance in her extended cameo role.
Minus Points:
Needlessly to say, the film has no proper sync with the audience.
The film has no connectivity with the proceedings and storyline is simple and predictable.
Technical Aspects:
Music by Agnesh is good but lacks a proper placement.
The cinematography is top notch as the visuals and the natural location are beautifully crafted. The editing work is okay but not upto the mark.
The production values by Dil Raju’s banner are good.
Verdict:
On the whole, Thammudu is an emotional drama that lacks an impact. Though the lead artists performance are good, the narrative falls flat due to abrupt proceedings and unwanted portions.
