After impressing the audience with Ambajipeta Marriage Band, young heroine Shivani Nagaram is now playing the lead role in Little Hearts alongside 90s Middle Class Biopic fame Mouli Tanuj. Directed by Sai Marthand under the ETV Win Originals banner, the film is produced by 90s Middle Class Biopic director Aditya Hasan. Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati are bringing the film to theatres, with a grand release scheduled for September 5. In a recent interview, Shivani shared her experiences and insights about the film.
• On how she came onboard:
“Music director Sinjith Yerramalli is my childhood friend. He brought Little Hearts to me and said, ‘Listen to this, it’s a really good story.’ When director Sai Marthand narrated it, I found it very exciting. I loved how every character was designed.”
• On choosing projects carefully:
“After Ambajipeta Marriage Band, I did get offers, but I wanted to be selective. A film should have strong content for people to come watch it in theatres. That’s why I waited for the right project.”
• Difference between her films:
“Ambajipeta Marriage Band had a love story mixed with emotional depth. But Little Hearts is different, it’s a lighthearted film filled with college fun. Even though there’s a love story, it doesn’t have heavy emotional elements.”
• About her role:
“I play Katyayani in Little Hearts. I didn’t prepare in a special way because the role itself feels very natural and relatable. The friendship and love between Akhil and Katyayani will remind audiences of their own college days.”
• Relating to the character:
“Katyayani’s character is close to my real life. I was also an average student during college. Watching Little Hearts will remind people of their student life experiences. From the beginning, this film was made for theatres. With Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati coming onboard, it’s now being released on a bigger scale, including overseas.”
• On co-actors and shooting experience:
“Since Mouli started as a content creator, he’s great with social media reels, but I directly entered films, so I’m not as active online. Shooting for Little Hearts was as fun as the film itself because most of us were of the same age and bonded like friends. Senior actors like Rajeev Kanakala, Anita Chowdary, Kanchi, and Satyakrishna encouraged us a lot. Rajeev sir’s role is fun, while Kanchi garu plays a serious character. Satyakrishna and Kanchi played my parents, and working with them was a great experience.”

“This movie reminded me of my own school and college days. It felt like a summer camp experience. Since I studied in girls’ schools and colleges, I never had opportunities to interact with boys, so acting in this film gave me that vibe. I’m grateful that Bunny Vasu garu and Vamsi Nandipati garu believed in the content instead of looking at it as just a small film. This is also the first theatrical release coming from ETV Win, which makes it special.”

“The songs in Little Hearts are getting a good response. My favorite is the Rajagaadi song. Mouli and I performed a hook step in it.”
• On career choices:
“There’s been a one-year gap between this film and my previous one because I was waiting for the right project. New heroines may have entered the industry during this time, but I don’t compare myself. I just focus on doing good films when opportunities come. I don’t differentiate between theatre and OTT. Eventually, every big film ends up on OTT, and I’m also open to web series if good opportunities come.”
• On growth as an actress:
“In my first film, I had many emotional crying scenes. But in Little Hearts, I got to play a fun, entertaining character. I’d love to do more romantic comedy entertainers. Up next, I’m working with Suhas in Hey Bhagavan, a complete hilarious entertainer. The glimpse is already out and the shoot is nearing completion. Apart from that, I have two more films lined up.”

Action-thriller SISU: Road to Revenge Telugu Trailer Out; Hits Theatres Nov 21
Sony Pictures Entertainment India has unveiled the Telugu trailer of their upcoming action-thriller, titled Sisu: Road to Revenge. The film is a wall-to-wall cinematic action event, a sequel to the original sleeper hit SISU. The film is set to hit the Indian theatres on 21st November 2025 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, “the man who refuses to die” (Jorma Tommila) dismantles it, loads it on a truck, and is determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the Red Army commander who killed his family (Stephen Lang from Don’t Breathe) comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues – a fight to the death, full of clever, unbelievable action set pieces.

Atharvaa Murali’s Action Thriller ‘Tunnel’ Movie Grand Releasing On September 12
Atharvaa Murali plays the lead in the upcoming action-packed thriller Tunnel. Directed by Ravindra Madhava, the film features Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead, while Ashwin Kakumanu will be seen as the antagonist. The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 12th. The Telugu version will be released through A Raju Nayak‘s Lachuram Productions.
The film’s Tamil trailer was unveiled on Sunday, and it delves into the high-stakes confrontation between a newly recruited police officer essayed by Atharvaa Murali and an ex-soldier, now a notorious criminal, portrayed by Ashwin Kakumanu. Rather than a mere chase, Tunnel explores how a single traumatic event drives one man toward heroism and the other toward villainy, blurring the lines between right and wrong.
Justin Prabhakaran is the music composer, Sakthi Saravanan is the cinematographer, and Kalaivanan is the editor.
Promotions for the Telugu version are set to begin soon, with the makers planning an aggressive promotional campaign here as well, ahead of the film’s release.
Arun Rayadurgam: A Theatre-Bred Actor.
For actor Arun Rayadurgam, cinema is not just performance — it’s a continuation of the discipline he found on stage. With his debut film 1990’s now reaching Telugu audiences, Arun’s story is one of perseverance, mentorship, and an uncompromising love for the craft.
Theatre was his first training ground, where he spent years performing demanding roles that shaped his seriousness as an actor. At the heart of this journey stands Nassar, one of India’s most respected actors. Nassar sir not only guided Arun but also wrote and curated plays in which Arun performed. His encouragement played a defining role in Arun’s growth.
Arun’s association with Nassar went beyond the stage. He was cast as the lead in a Tamil film personally curated by the veteran actor. Though the project was unfortunately shelved after completion, it became an invaluable experience that reinforced Arun’s faith in his path.
Alongside theatre, Arun also built experience in cinema as a character artist in a few Kannada films, before stepping into the lead with 1990’s. An engineer-turned-actor, he studied Computer Science at Sathyabama University, Chennai, worked at HCL Technologies, Bangalore and later trained at the Balu Mahendra Film Institute.
Today, as 1990’s expands into Telugu, Arun stands as a serious actor shaped by theatre, polished by mentorship, and committed to carrying sincerity into every performance.
Theatre Roots of Arun Rayadurgam
After completing his acting course at the Balu Mahendra Film Institute, Arun Rayadurgam found his true grounding in theatre. Choosing to work as a freelancer, he immersed himself in the vibrant stage culture of Tamil Nadu, gradually shaping his identity as a performer.
In his early days, Arun was associated with well-known theatre personalities such as Bagu, and also performed in productions curated by Veli Rangarajan, the renowned theatre critic and publisher of Veli, Tamil Nadu’s respected theatre magazine. His collaboration with Arunmozhi Shivaprakasam, another eminent theatre and film personality, became a defining point. It was Shivaprakasam who introduced Arun to Bagu, and together they built a lasting association.
Arun went on to act in several plays directed by Bagu, and eventually became an integral member of the theatre collective “Thinainilavaasigal.” With this team, he explored theatre in its purest forms — from stage performances to street plays addressing various social issues, traveling all over India to perform and connect with diverse audiences. This versatility, Arun believes, kept him humble as an actor, rooted in the reality that performance is meant for people in every space, not just within auditoriums.
One of the most cherished aspects of this journey was the support of Nassar, who opened his farmhouse in Chengalpattu as a rehearsal space for the group. His encouragement and involvement offered young actors like Arun the confidence to explore their craft freely.
Through these years, Arun’s theatre career was not just training — it was a way of life, a discipline that shaped him into a performer who values sincerity over shortcuts.

The film is directed by Sai Marthand under the ETV Win Original Productions banner. Aditya Hassan, who earlier directed 90s Middle-Class Biopic, is the producer of this film. The theatrical release is being presented by Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati. Little Hearts is set for a grand theatrical release on September 5th. Speaking in an interview today, Bunny Vas and Vamsi shared the highlights of the film.
Producer & Distributor Bunny Vas said:
“Vamsi first told me about Little Hearts, saying it was a good film. Later, Aditya Hassan explained the film in detail. When I finally watched it, I really liked it. Then I realized Vamsi was indeed referring to this movie. The content is strong, and we immediately decided to go for a theatrical release.
We didn’t get involved creatively, apart from giving a few suggestions. The entire credit goes to the team. The cast mostly includes newcomers or faces known through OTT. So, I expect the openings will be slow, but collections will pick up from matinee and first shows onwards.
We didn’t have any better release dates. On the 12th, multiple films are coming, and on the 19th, OG will dominate. If Little Hearts sustains through the first week with positive talk, it will move into a better run. It’s a youthful entertainer with no vulgarity, families can also enjoy it together.
Unlike Hindi and Malayalam films that get strong theatrical runs, in Telugu cinema we move films to OTT within four weeks. Our theatrical promotions indirectly help OTT performance too. At the end of the day, the audience won’t come just because we demand them to; if the film is good, they’ll turn up.
Yes, multiplex food rates are high, but when a movie is worth it, audiences don’t mind spending. Smaller films ideally should have ₹150 ticket rates. But practically, if we reduce only for our film, other films will push for ₹200 tickets, which creates issues.
Little Hearts is a very good film. If it had released 4–5 years ago, it would’ve stormed the theatres. The advantage now is that in the coming weeks there aren’t many youth-oriented fun films, so this will stand out.
I watched the final copy, audiences will laugh a lot. The song “Kathyaayani Nannu Love Cheyi” will definitely turn into meme content. The 16–20 age group will especially connect with this film. Unlike 90s Middle-Class Biopic, which had a school backdrop, this one revolves around inter-college, EAMCET exams, and the fun, struggles, and love that bloom in that phase.
The hero’s character, Akhil (played by Mouli), always stays cheerful even in tough situations. The story is less about family drama and more about students, coaching centers, exams, and the charm of falling in love.
We only distribute films with strong content, though not all may work commercially. Last week, we distributed one more film that was more OTT-friendly. Today, OTT platforms don’t consider a film unless it plays in at least 90 theatres.
Rules say every theatre should play 5 shows, but hardly anyone follows them. COVID changed the industry drastically, both content and promotions. Earlier methods don’t work now. Today, only if the trailer clicks will audiences show interest.
From our side, our next film Mitramandali will release on October 16th, for Diwali.”

“When we came on board, Little Hearts was 80% complete and in post-production. We gave our suggestions only from an audience’s perspective. While watching it, we strongly felt this was theatrical material and would blast in theatres.
This is the first film being presented by Bunny Vas under his banner. A young team worked on it, and their energy reflects on the screen. ETV Win has been bringing very good content. Their films and shows remind us of our childhood memories. 90s Middle-Class Biopic recalled school days, Air reminded us of college days, and now Little Hearts will take us to the phase when a boy proposes to a girl after college, and the efforts he makes to win his love.
Content has evolved a lot. Even when I made Polimera, things were different. Audience preferences have changed, and producers also need to adapt.
On September 3rd, we’re planning special shows in Hyderabad, Vizag, and Vijayawada exclusively for students. On the 4th, we will hold paid premieres. The film will release in around 170 theatres on the 5th.”
Nikhil Bhat Makes His Hollywood Directorial Debut With Universal Studios
Nikhil Bhat has indeed created waves with his action thriller Kill. While the film was screened at several film festivals, it also established a strong hold at the box office, winning appreciation for its path-breaking action sequences. Since then, the audience has been eagerly waiting for his next. While there have been updates about his collaboration with a big Hollywood studio, the interesting news now is that the director will be casting top Hollywood actors in the film.
A source close to the development revealed, “Nikhil Bhat has been meeting the heads of Universal Studios for a while now, and the things are finally on paper. The director is all set to make his Hollywood debut with a global action film, which is presently in the scripting stage. It’s a high-octane action spectacle touted to be mounted on a big-scale art a humongous budget. This is Nikhil’s most ambitious film till date, and is expected to put him on the global map,”
The source further informed, “The filmmaker plans to cast top Hollywood stars to spearhead the film, and the names are also in the discussion at Universal Studios. It’s one of those scripts that warrants the presence of global stars, and the cast will take everyone in India by surprise. The things are presently kept under wraps.”
Nikhil Bhat is expected to take the film on floors in 2026, with the exact timelines to be finalized once the cast is on board. Meanwhile, his next film with Murad Khetani is currently in the pre-production stage.
